Meet Dr. Charles C. Guck
Painless, Patient-Centered Care
While our team strives for technical excellence, what makes our practice exceptional is how we approach our patients. We are in constant contact with each person and always aware of how they feel. We work hard to create and maintain open communication with every person. By actively listening, paying attention to their body language, and providing a safe, encouraging environment, we show patients they are important to us.
We practice painless dentistry. This means a person who has had negative or stressful dental experiences in the past can work through any lingering fears. We proceed with care at a pace where the patient is comfortable. We explain what will happen at every visit and how the treatment will address the person’s goals. We encourage patients to be actively involved in deciding the treatment approach: We make recommendations, but it’s the patient who needs to be an informed, active participant in the planning, treatment and maintenance phases of care.
I’ve been practicing dentistry for 27 years. I came into the field wanting to apply technical skills, in a caring manner, to better the lives of others. What I do helps make people happier and healthier. I cannot imagine a more fulfilling profession!
Education and Continuing Education
- Bachelor of Science in Biology, Trinity College
- Doctorate of Dental Medicine, University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine
- General Practice Residency, Long Island Jewish Medical Center
I’m engaged in ongoing continuing education, with an emphasis on technology. I seek out technologies that improve the quality and efficiency of treatment, making care easier and more comfortable, with the strongest results.
While we seek to use the best of the newest technology, we know the human element is the single most important factor in care. We put our patients at the forefront of all we do.

Personal Life
I grew up in Newtown and have lived in Southbury, CT, since 1990. I have two children currently in college. I’m proud of how they are meeting the challenges of their education and their career choices. My home is shared with my sweet, soulful black lab, Maggie.
My leisure time is often spent outdoors. I enjoy hiking, camping, paddling, fishing, and hunting. Exploring the Rocky Mountains is a recent passion. Additionally, I’ve been an internationally-ranked competitor in Spartan Races for several years. The discipline and dedication this requires is both challenging and rewarding.
